The LG Rumor Touch-What’s the Deal?
It was announced @CES on the 7th of January during an LG Press Release that pre-registration for the Rumor Touch would begin that day at on the website of the carrier to be lucky enough to have it: Sprint!
According to the press release, the LG Rumor Touch, the successor to the original LG Rumor, which made its debut in 2007 and is one of Sprint’s most popular messaging phones, is a touch based, message oriented fashionable smartphone which will be available for release at sometime in the first quarter, although pricing and availability would be announced at later date for the Rumor Touch. However, it is known the Rumor Touch will be available in blue at first than come in more colors at a later date as the device catches on. According to Sprint’s senior vice president, Kevin Peckingham, the LG Rumor TOuch: “…will give consumers the latest in touch screen technology to keep them in touch while on-the-go. ”

Feature Rich? Apparently So…
The Press release is calling the Rumor Touch “Feature rich” with a 3′ WQVGA touchscreen and a 2 megapixel camera and camcorder, a microSD slot expandable up to 32 GB, Google Search built in, 3G capabilities, Sprint’s EUDO Rev. 0 Network, GPS and a host of Sprint services such as Sprint Navigation, TV, Music, and Mobile Email as well as a personal and corporate feature rich calendar.
They also say customers have instant access to update Facebook statuses right from the phone and can upload pics to Photobucket as well as “use the GPS to find the coolest hangouts.” Enough said-
And the Verdict Is?
The LG Rumor Touch is a nice successor to the Rumor, although aside from the touchscreen, the only changes made seem to be the addition og the 3G, which in itself I suppose justifies the new release. I guess the Rumor fanatics can now be up-to-date and message while int eh modern world and on the go, right? They say it will be available in the first quarter, right? SO isn’t thaty where we are now? The first quarter of 2010… So where is it?
