Okay, we have tried. Spent thousands of hours. For what? For something dead. And that is why we have decided to stop developing for IE6. From now on and forever. Why? It is very simple: the benefits of using IE are too few – and the faults too great – to put off the adoption of an alternative any longer.
Since this browser was originally released in 2001 and does not support the latest web standards and technologies compared to modern browsers which offer a rich support for HTML5, CSS2 or CSS3. Not to mention all the IE6 quirks and bugs which were sadly never fixed.

What a relief: Finally, after many different approaches from smaller companies, the first big player is taking the biggest drama to an end. Youtube seems to stop supporting the IE 6. Best news in a while.
What is even more interesting: Digg.com has found out that the still remaining visitors using an IE6 are much less productive than others:
Based on the amount of activity and the relative rate of its decline, we’re likely to stop supporting IE6 for logged in activity like digging, burying, and commenting. Users of IE6 would still be able to view pages — just not logged in.
