We are currently facing a problem and we are asking you if you could give us some support. We are currently being accused by a service provider of Sony Ericsson for publishing unauthorized information. We published some video reviews of prototype phones last August, being sure that these phones were already publicly announced and we would not tell any secrets about them.

We ask you because you guys are the real experts on smartphones, you have probably better sources than we do, and this way it will be way easier to gather a lot of information. The youserbase crew is currently reduced to two people, and it is a part time job.

Now we are accused of publishing company secrets like showing the browser or the remote play function of Aino. These are just two examples, if we prove them to be wrong there might be others. Usually stuff like that pops up in court, and than it will be too late. We believe it was right to publish the videos, and that we did not tell any secrets. The usage of Symbian S60, for example, is nothing of a secret at all.

What we ask you is to tell us anything about previously published information, websites that contained the information beforehand, press events where the phones have been shown before the 1st of August (Satio) or the 5th of August (Aino), we will be able to keep on making video review, keep up the website and keep on smiling.

We have split the videos and put them on different sites of the blog. So if you have information to support us (like: „This functionality has been published two weeks earlier by Engadget.com, look at this link….“) please use the comments to do so. We will regularly update the sites to keep an overview.

What we know by now:

The Aino uses the web browser Access netfront 3.5. It was the first SE phone to use the browser, but Samsung used it in previous phones like the M8800 introduced in late 2008. Nevertheless, if there is any other proof the browser has been shown on a SE phone, we would really appreciate it.
