The Acer Liquid Finally Released
Finally released this week, after being announced in the middle of October, is the Acer Liquid. In an interview between Reuters and Aymar de Lencquesaing, one of the heads of Acer Inc., he stated they would only be releasing between 8-10 smartphones. which would be their comfort zone, and not following the top cell phone makers by introducing 50-10 handsets a year.

De Lencquesaing also stated in the interview “…Acer aims to reach 6 to 7 percent of the smartphone market in 3-5 years from entering it, helped by volume growth of cheap smartphones.” and that “”We will stick to that. It’s core to our strategy,” de Lencquesaing said. “So far we are executing more or less on plan.” And they do seem to be acing the Acer Plan because as of now, they have 3.5% of the Market share as opposed to last year when they had none of the Smartphone market at all.

Now, the Acer Liquid is running Android 1.6, the only one of the Acer smartphones to have it, for now. All the others they have produced are running WinMo in some form or another. But they have promised that next year’s line up to be more equaled out between the two.

The phone itself has the usual features including the new Qualcomm QSD 8250 Snapdragon 1 ghzCPU (at 768 MHz) we seem to see popping up everywhere all of a sudden. Other features include the 3.5″ WVGA 800×480 capacitive touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera with auto focus, 256mb SDRAM, 512 Flash ROM, Bluetooth 2.0 EDR, 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, a digital compass and a G-sensor and light sensor, along with more features too many to name.

And The Verdict Is?
I think he Acer smartphones are going to do well, in spite of a struggling economy. Why you ask? Well, for starters Acer is known for their cheaply proces notebooks and such. So on reputation alone that will get them sales.

Even though the Liquid is going for approximately $700 USD, it is already being waited on. And the fact that Acer has already captured the part of the market they did plays a big factor in sales as well. With the world waiting on the next phones oto come, most are going to want to preview the Acer Liquid to see if those new ones are going to be worth it or not. What do you all think?
